Our Church History
On August 1, 1999, Pastor Jeffrey V. Branson and Reverend Paula Branson held the first service of From the Heart Church Ministries of Philadelphia in a local hotel. The Philadelphia church is known as “the church with a good heart” because the people are taught to give their hearts to Jesus, their family, local church and community. Pastor Branson always referred to his ministry as an Overflow Room of the Parent Church.
From the Heart Church Ministries of Philadelphia experienced explosive growth and worshipped in several locations before settling in its permanent location that was acquired through the support of the Biblical Infrastructure. Dr. John A. Cherry, our Founding Episcopal Pastor, dedicated From the Heart Church Ministries of Philadelphia’s new church building on July 1, 2007. The Philadelphia church was the Host Church for several bi-annual Episcopal Council Meetings and From the Heart Pastors Conferences and was the Host Church for the From the Heart Church Ministries Spring Ministerial Training in March 2-6, 2020.
After 22 years of faithful service Pastor and Reverend Branson retired on April 18, 2021. On that same day, Bishop John A. Cherry, II – Episcopal Pastor, ordained Reverend John Hicks and appointed him as the Elder-in-Charge. He and his wife, Minister Kimberly Hicks served and cared for the members in this capacity for nearly 2 years during the worldwide pandemic.
On Sunday, March 5, 2023, Bishop Cherry installed Reverend Reuben L. Monmouth, III as the Interim Pastor of the church. Pastor Monmouth and his wife, Minister Danielle Monmouth are humbled and excited to continue to build on the foundation laid at “the church with a good heart.” In August 2024, the church celebrated its 25th Anniversary. In 2025, the interior of the sanctuary and overflow room were updated. On August 9, 2026, Pastor Monmouth was formally installed as the Pastor of the church. The church continues to grow spiritually, administratively, and financially under the pastoral team of Pastor and Minister Monmouth.
